Sousse and Bardo Memorial – ‘Infinite Wave’ Canon Hill Park Birmingham

The Sousse and Bardo Memorial sculpture commissioned by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office as a memorial to the victims of the terrorist attacks at the Bardo National Museum in Tunis, and Sousse Tunisia in 2015. The chosen site of installation was technically challenging in respect of site topography and working close to important retained trees.

We worked in collaboration with George King Architects to finalise a design that was sensitive to the needs of mature trees. The success of the project required very detailed  consideration of existing and finished site levels, prescribing sensitive construction solutions, controlled management of the sculpture delivery to site, and supervising the installation works to ensure the successful protection and retention of important mature trees nearby.
